The Name
Pragnanz comes from the German Prägnanz — meaning “conciseness” or “good form.” It is the central law of Gestalt psychology, formulated by Max Wertheimer, Kurt Koffka, and Wolfgang Köhler.
The Law of Prägnanz states that the mind naturally organizes complex, ambiguous input into the simplest, most coherent, most stable form possible.
